Case Study Dumpster Fence

Hello. Welcome to a case study with League City Fence Company. Today, we’re going to talk about a customer who requested a new dumpster fence. So, let’s go ahead and get started. So, this dumpster fence, it’s in League City. It’s at a commercial site, and the previous dumpster, the gate hinges were just not the appropriate ones for the fence. And when we got there to measure, the actual the left door was pretty much almost gone. It was just barely hanging on. The customer wanted a stronger

dumpster fence. We went ahead and told him that we’d go ahead and come up with something. And this is what we came up with. It’s made with 4×4 galvanized square post. And we went ahead and welded the hinges on so that way the doors would function properly for a long time. You can kind of see here on the side. We opted to give a little bit more of an industrial type look by not putting the pickets all the way around. We left them just buted up to the post. I think it came out really great. This

dumpster is a 10T x 10T basically square. This is the back side. So you can see how everything is still in place there. I really like the way the posts were exposed. I think it looked pretty good. Got caps on top of the galvanized square post. They’ll last a lot longer than just the powder coated black post. We used western red cedar pickets. These are 6 foot tall. The original dumpster fence was only 6t tall, so we opted just to keep it the same. Here’s another side view. You can see the hinges on the side

there. We welded it to a gate frame that was made out of 1 and 1/4 in square frame tubing as well that was galvanized. I don’t have a picture of that internally, but we weld all of our custom gate frames that way. We opted to go ahead and put a 2×4 treated board on the top which was screwed into the galvanized 4×4 post with selftapping screws. This allowed us to nail the pickets directly into the 2×4. So in case any pickets need to be replaced, they can easily just replace it and nailed back into the 2×4. The other way

to do it would have been to go ahead and use selftapping screws and go into the 4×4 metal frame, but that would have created a ton of holes. So you can see how the 2x4s treated up there or buted up against the 4x4s and has a nice clean look on it. After we welded everything on there, we used the cold galvanizing spray to protect the metal that we had to weld. Here is another front view of it. If you’re looking for a dumpster fence or any type of fence, give us a holler. I should have put this picture

probably earlier in the slide deck, but this is my crew after they welded the railings of the dumpster fence, which was again 4×4 galvanized square tubing. It looks like he’s brushing off all the slag from the welding. And we’ll go ahead and paint it with some cold galvanizing spray. And then another close-up view of the welds being covered with the galvanizing spray. and then how the 2×4 mounted up on the rails there. Here’s another view of the inside.
